“My interest in municipal government affairs occurred with the heightened economic and environmental stressors that occurred in 2021-2022 as a result of recent state legislation which impacts our infrastructure, safety, well-being, and wallets.

The passage of Senate Bill 4-D, including the overreach of Reserves SIRS, and escalating insurance costs, has had a direct, immediate, and deleterious effect on condominium owners in my own community and the Town of Highland Beach.

Relief from the pandemic was followed by the onset of unanticipated financial insecurity for our residents. We are seeing a “flight” out of Highland Beach caused by the unexpected heavy financial burdens now demanded by new state and municipal legislation.

To stand idly by is not in my nature, but it is rather to be a part of the discussion and solution. There is much at stake, and I look forward to being an active member of the Highland Beach Commission to afford intelligent and compassionate resolution to a broad and complex problem that faces many residents in the area.”

“I can deliver my unique contribution as an advocate, lawyer, leader, mediator, and entrepreneur to create a shared purpose and vision and get things done.  My achievements and professional acumen demonstrate my ability to collaborate, analyze and effectively lead and build consensus.”

  1. “Effective planning for growth and addressing the impact of Senate Bill 4-D and Municipal ordinance on Highland Beach condominium owners to reduce the “flight” of our residents.  Develop strategies and partnerships with other small and mid-size municipalities to build consensus and effectively lobby the Florida legislature to review and revise Senate Bill 4-D, condominium reserve mandates, and insurance. We are a small-size Town with large ambitions and a history of achieving successful results.”
  2. “Preservation of our natural resources and property values. I will encourage and seek the active involvement of our Town offices through targeted community action groups, Town outreach, and the development of heightened awareness campaigns to build consensus for the improvement and protection of our pristine beaches, canals, and seawalls. I will work towards assembling a panel of local residents who are uniquely qualified as Engineers, developers, landscape architects, marine construction engineers, and the like.  With these qualified local experts, we can collaborate on how to utilize best and beautify all of Highland Beach’s areas of interest.”
  3. “As Commissioner, I will work actively in coordination with the Florida Department of Transportation in the implementation of the major resurfacing, restoration, and rehabilitation (RRR) project planned for A1A, a yearlong project commencing in the Spring of 2024. I will work with all parties and service providers to mitigate the major disruptions inherent in this project and reduce the negative impact of the construction.”
  4. “The expansion of Highland Beach Fire Department: continue to oversee and implement the expansion of our Fire Department and emergency services.  It is essential that our Town leaders communicate with Highland Beach residents and visitors about the Town’s emergency and fire safety services; we must work towards bringing greater awareness through media coverage, social media, and the like to augment the Manager’ Monthly Newsletter.”
  5. “Intelligent and fiscally responsible preservation of existing wetlands and green spaces, and if available adding Milani Park as a green space for future use.”
  6. “Increase dialogue and frequency of communications between the Town Commission and The Natural Resources Preservation Advisory Board to foster the effective development of ideas to enable environmental and natural resources preservation, protection, and conservation. Towards this end, I will support increasing the frequency of the Boards reporting to the Commission.”

“I have lived in Highland Beach for 8+ years. From 2012-2014, I rented a place here and maintained it as my year-round second residence. I then moved to Boca Raton and rented a place there from 2014-2018, again keeping it as my year-round second residence. Finally, in 2018 I purchased my own home in the Seagate Condominiums of Highland Beach.”

“I am an Attorney licensed to practice in the State of Connecticut and a Divorce & Family Law Mediator. My practice in Florida is limited to offering services as a Certified Family Mediator.   I maintain offices exclusively for my Florida divorce mediation practice serving couples in a convenient location in Palm Beach County and throughout the State via Zoom.  I bring to my divorce mediation practice in South Florida an extensive background in law, my education, training, and over 30 years of mediation and dispute resolution skills and experience.”

“I am running for the position of Highland Beach Commissioner to bring new vitality and energy to the Town Commission and my valuable viewpoint and perspective. My skills, talent, and legal and business experience can engage our community and stakeholders in maintaining the unique flavor and beauty of Highland Beach with compassion, intelligence, and high standards of governance.”
